I cannot tell you how excited I was when I saw that a Pokémon Funko Pocket Pop! Holiday Advent Calendar existed. After searching everywhere I finally managed to preorder myself one. It seems these babies are like gold dust here in the UK.
As it was coming from America, there was a slight delay in postage, so I didn’t get it until 6th December. I was actually on the verge of cancelling, as I didn’t know if it would ever arrive. Also, I kept thinking to myself, what’s the point in an Advent Calendar if you don’t have it to count down to Christmas. Luckily for me it did finally arrive and I am so glad it did!
I previously had the Marvel Funko Pocket Pop! Calendar which I loved, so I have been excited to see what comes up in this one. I mean, it’s Pokémon, what’s not to love? In this Advent, you get a little mini Funko figure behind each door. The packaging folds out, so you have a little place for all of the pops to stand and the doors are hidden behind. The other side of the packaging shows you all of the pops that will be included. I usually hate this, as I love the surprise element of an Advent Calendar, but these Funko calendars are really pricey so it is good to make sure there are a fair few that you actually like first.
The calendar arrived really nicely packaged, although it was super annoying as I went to open the first door and the tray had been put in backwards so I was greeted with a plain bit of plastic. I then got Lewis to open it and then he had to try and flip it without seeing what was going to be opened. Not ideal, but we move on ha!
Now onto the good part, what I have opened so far…

Doors 1 – 6
Silver Pikachu / Mr Mime / Flareon / Ratata / Cubone / Silver Squirtle
Well this is instantly just as cute as I thought it would be. My favourite out of this bunch is definitely Cubone or Flareon. Why on earth they decided to include Rattata I will never know! Does anyone out there even like Rattata?
Doors 7 – 12
Bulbasaur / Raichu / Eevee / Vulpix / Meowth / Silver Squirtle
Now this is the best selection of cuties. Obviously Meowth is just my favourite ever, but the teeny Vulpix is just the best and Bulbasaur is super cute too. Raichu would be up there in the top, but annoyingly his ear is upside down. Lewis keeps telling me it makes him unique, but the more I look at it, the more it annoys me.
I am really impressed with this so far, there have been so many little cuties and not actually that many I dislike. I am not a huge fan of the silver pops personally, as I feel the space could be used for a few other cute characters instead. I don’t think that there will be too many of those though!
I can’t wait to see what is behind the next 12 doors. Hopefully they have saved the best until last! ❤
