MAC Shiny Pretty Things Eye Party • Rose

I got this lovely MAC Shiny Pretty Things Eye Party palette for Christmas from my mum and it is just the cutest little thing. Even though I have a few MAC eyeshadows, I have never actually owned a proper MAC palette before so I am excited to try this little beauty out. I cannot remember the last time I bought a makeup palette, I find that they last forever so I only really invest every now and again.

The style of this packaging is super cute. I love the metallic green colour and the way it feels like velvet, although it doesn’t really match the rose theme inside, it is very, very pretty. I can see why this was part of the Christmas collection, as it has a perfect Festive feel to it. It is definitely one of the prettiest palettes that I own, I do love it when effort is put into packaging. I am really surprised by how light this palette is to hold too, it is the perfect travel size and makes it so easy to pop in your bag if you are travelling light.

The shades in the Shiny Little Things palette are really lovely. It makes a lovely miniature replacement for my Urban Decay Naked palette which seems to be on its last legs. I like the mixture of nude and pink shades, especially the metallic salmon and the deeper plum, which are right up my street.

Shiny Little Things is one of those palettes where every shade works really well together. I am so glad that the brighter shades are as pigmented as I hoped they would be. I do love the second half of the palette a bit more than the first, but that is only because I prefer a bolder shade. The first half is perfect for my ‘got up late, slap some eyeshadow on with no effort’ days though. Sometimes I just need a little something on my lids and those shimmery shades will work perfectly.

I think this is a perfect everyday palette. It isn’t as bold as some of the palettes that I own, but it is nice to have a more neutral option in my collection. The lighter shadows do take a bit of work to get a strong colour payoff, but once you start layering up they seem to work better.

I am so pleased with how well these shades work together and I can’t wait to play around and see which looks I can create. ❤
