HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Firstly, I just want to wish you all a happy and healthy 2022. May it be full of everything you wish for and may it bring a little bit more normality than we saw in 2021. ❤

I really want to get back into posting regularly again, so thought I would start with a roundup of my December, which seemed to fly past quicker than any other year I have known.

I really enjoyed making the house all Festive this year, we have pretty much stayed in for most of 2021, popping out here and there when we need things. So it was nice to put decorations up and make the same walls a little more interesting to look at haha! Nothing like putting the tree up and having all the snacks, I will be glad when I take it down tomorrow though, I cannot wait for the house to be tidy.

Sadly, due to COVID I didn’t do half the things I normally do in December. Pretty much all of my shopping was done online and I didn’t go anywhere to have festive treats or a nice little Christmassy mooch around. I know I am lucky to be able to go out and about if I want still, but being classed as vulnerable I decided that it wasn’t worth the risk this year. I did manage to make some Christmassy brownies and cookies though, which were divine if I say so myself.

The pets were just the cutest as usual. Meowth was obsessed with trying to nibble to tree branches for the whole month. Her face often covered in glitter like I have given her a makeover. Misty loves knocking a bauble off and flinging it across the floor and bulldozer Frank just clears up anything he can find. they have made it super entertaining though, especially Frank in his super cute festive jumpers.

We were super lucky to see my parents this year too and I cannot be more grateful. After last year, it was so lovely to just sit around the table and have dinner together. Something I will never ever take for granted again.

Overall it was a quiet month, as they all seem to be these days ha! Did you have a nice Christmas? ❤

My Christmas was calm. I’ve been dealing with a long-term family health situation for the past five years (so predating Covid, just exacerbated by it) but I celebrated:

    * moving into a new phase in my enjoyment with coloring
    * my orange boys, Merry and Pippin, spending their 2nd winter with us
    * my black-cat girl Amy gradually having less stress over the addition of the orange boys to the household
    * thirteen years blogging at my current address!
    * getting my blood sugar under control

I celebrated by coloring, taking extra naps, enjoying more time with all of my cats, and just generally relaxing.

Happy 2022! I had a safe and quiet Christmas. I managed to do some Christmasy things before COVID started ramping up again and stayed home by the end of December because I didn’t want to risk getting or spreading anything. I’m happy to see what 2022 brings and hopefully things calm down this year. ♥
