You know when you get given a free sample and it actually turns out to be a really amazing sample? Well finally this has happened to me. My mum purchased her usual Estée Lauder mascara a little while ago and gave me her free gift (isn’t she a treasure?!). Inside was a sample sized lipstick and instead of the usual shade that I will never wear, I discovered a shade called Rebellious Rose – a shade so nice, I now have the full size version!
Estée Lauder is not really a brand that I have ever really gone to for a lipstick, they are usually way out of my price range, but Santa knew how much I loved the sample and brought me this – thanks Santa!
The packaging of this is very simple, but the gold and blue just makes it feel really classy. I find this with high end brands, they just have a certain feel about them that you instantly know that they are expensive.
In the bullet this lipstick is a lovely dusty pink colour, but it applies with a very slight coral tone to it. As much as I like bold lipsticks, I also love shades like this when you can just throw them on as they are so easy to wear.
This lipstick glides on like an absolute dream. The formula is nice and moisturising, very similar to a MAC Cremesheen finish but it lasts a whole lot longer before wearing off. After a few hours, it fades to a kind of ‘my lips but better’ shade. I think that is why I love it so much, I don’t have to worry what I am left with when it starts to fade out.
I really do love this shade. Although a little pricey, if you are like me and don’t really want to touch up your lipstick all of the time I think it might just be worth it. ♥
