monthly roundup December 2020

Oh December, always my favourite month of the year. Obviously, this one was a bit of a funny one. I tried to make it as Festive as I possibly could still and it was lovely in it’s own way, but some days it really didn’t feel very Christmassy at all. I was in a Tier 4 area over Christmas, which I think added to my lack of Christmas cheer. I was just about getting there and then Boris made his announcement and it was like popping my Christmas balloon. Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand the restrictions and have stuck by them since the beginning, it was just the timing of everything that hit me hardest. There is no point me dwelling on that now though, we move on!

I did manage to keep a few cute little indoor traditions going for Christmas though. Meowth was estatic the Christmas Tree was back. I think I shouted ‘Stop eating the Christmas Tree’ at least 100 times less this year..win! Didn’t stop her pulling as many berries as she possibly could off though, I’m surprised there are any left on there to be honest. Obviously, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to dress up Frank for the occasion either, he makes the cutest Frankie Claus doesn’t he?!

We caught up on all the Christmas films throughout the week too. Christmas Eve was filled with Festive Hot Chocolates and films. I like to watch The Grinch with Lewis just before Christmas, as he is like The Grinch and I like to treat it as his Annual life lesson lol.

I also decided this year that I am not as big of a fan of mince pies as I thought I was. I mean, I do like them, but not to the extent I usually eat them each year. I say I am not as big of a fan, but then it could actually be that I am learning better portion control!

Lewis continued the tradition of a new Disney decoration and surprised me with this Little Mermaid beauty on Christmas Day. I didn’t think we would be able to get one this year because of Lockdown, but he still managed to surprise me. My mum usually sneaks in and hangs a decoration on the tree to see how long it takes us to find it too. Obviously she couldn’t this year, but still got me the cutest little Gingerbread person.

Overall, December was still a cute month. We made the best of the situation we were in and most of all kept safe. I missed family so much though and can’t wait for next year when we can hopefully all be back together! ❤
