If you have been searching for the best Liquid Lipstick to wear under a face mask, I think I may well have just found it. Now, that is definitely not a sentence that I thought I would be typing this time last year! BUT I have been searching for a good Liquid Lipstick for the odd time I actually go out of the house. I have wanted to try Lime Crime Velvetines Lipsticks for such a long time, but it was only when I saw them for real in Boots before Lockdown that I really fell in love.
The Velvetines Lipsticks come in such a huge variety of colours in both Matte and Metallic finishes. Their shades range from nudes straight through to black with a few bright bold shades in between. I have the shade Sasha to show you today, which is such a perfect everyday colour for me.
Velvetines come in a frosted glass tube with a doe foot applicator in the lid. I really like the packaging, it is very simple but with a cute metallic floral twist. The applicator itself is really easy to use, although I do find that it picks up quite a lot of product, so I find myself applying using a lip brush to get a more even effect.
The shade Sasha is the most perfect deep rose colour. It is described by Lime Crime as a ‘Toasted Rose’ shade which I would say is pretty spot on. It is slightly darker than a traditional rose lipstick and has lovely nude tones to it too. These are the shades I usually go for when I am looking for an ‘everyday’ lipstick and they just go with everything.
This Sasha lipstick applies like an absolute dream. The colour just glides on the lips and takes about 30 seconds before it dries completely. This is where my statement about the best face mask lipstick comes in, as once it is dry…IT DOES NOT BUDGE. This is probably one of the only liquid lipsticks I have tried where I haven’t had to top it up throughout the day. I have worn this under my mask several times and the colour hasn’t transferred at all. I am so impressed with the formula as it doesn’t dry out my lips either.
I absolutely love this Velvetines Liquid Lipstick, the shade and formula are just spot on. I have been using it a lot lately, well when I have been bothered to actually wear makeup ha. Everything about it just works and I cannot wait to try more colours, especially some of the metallics too as they look gorgeous. ❤
That packaging is beautiful and the colour really suits you! I’ve personally never tried any Lime Crime but I really want to as they seem to be very high quality.
