Way back in the time that we were allowed to leave our houses, my lovely mum treated me to the Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions Rich Eyeshadow Palette. She is such a doll and got me this as a gift for feeding her cats whilst she was away on holiday. I mean, she knows I would always look after those little furbabies anyway, but this was such a lovely little gesture. I have wanted this palette for ages. After playing around with the Huda Beauty stand in my local Boots, I would always sway towards the Rich palette as the colours always look so gorgeous.
The Nude Obsessions palettes come in 3 different varieties – Light, Medium and Rich. All of them are filled with 9 different eyeshadows and have a mixture of shimmery and matte finishes with nude and rose tones. Each of the palettes are beautiful, but the Rich palette stuck out to me a little more than the others as the tones in this one are slightly deeper.
The design of this palette is perfect, it’s compact enough to hold whilst applying makeup but isn’t heavy at all. I’m usually stood up in front of a mirror or window when I do my makeup, so I need something that I can hold without getting a dead arm. One day I will have space for my own makeup table and it will be glorious! Anyway, this palette is very sturdy and well made, but super pretty too. It has a mirror in the lid, which I just love in a palette.
The eyeshadows in the Nude Obsessions Rich palette are lined up in a 3×3 square layout. I love this layout in palettes, it is so simple but just works. The matte and shimmer shadows are scattered around the palette with 4 sparkly eyeshadows and 5 matte shades. There is a good mix of light and dark tones, both in the glitters and the mattes. The shades don’t actually have any names, but that doesn’t bother me at all, as I can never usually remember the names anyway.
All of the shades in this Nude Obsessions palette work so well together. I couldn’t actually think of any shades that you wouldn’t be able to put together to create a look with this. They all apply so well too, the matte shades are nice and creamy and the glitter shades are just pure SPARKLY! The balance of colour tones is just perfect. It’s nice to have a palette where I would use every single colour and with this one I definitely would.
I just haven’t stopped playing around with this at all. Like I said, the possibilities are endless! I decided to do a brighter look using the rosier shades and then a smokier look using the more nude tones. It’s one of those palettes that is just so easy to dive into. The shades are just lovely and workable. If lockdown has taught me one thing, it is to play around and practice more and I think it is paying off!
The eyeshadows blend together like an absolute dream. The sparkly shades are a little easier applied wet, but the glitter just clings on once it is applied. The matte shades are really pigmented too, they do fallout a little but nothing a little buffing away can’t fix. I am so pleased with this palette and can’t wait to create more looks with it.
This is the first product from Huda Beauty I have tried and I am in LOVE. I am so impressed with the Nude Obsessions palette and now I want the others immediately! ❤
