Makeup Look Capricorn Love bh cosmetics

I mentioned in my Goals Post that I wanted to start a weekly makeup series and here we are! I decided to freshen things up with the new year and one of the things that I wanted to do was start a series of different makeup looks. I have fallen back in love with makeup so much lately, so I thought doing something like this would help me improve and give me something to look back on. In theory I am taking The Mini Mermaid right back to her roots as this is pretty much where I started, full circle yo. Obviously, I am by no means a makeup artist as you will see from the photos below, but I am learning and wanted to share how I get on along the way.

I used to do a makeup series on here a few years back, but lack of confidence got the better of me. I always felt I was not good enough and felt so deflated seeing the amazing makeup out there and gave up. I feel a lot better this time around though, makeup is subjective and there is no such thing as ‘bad makeup’, which sadly took me a good while to learn. I just love playing with different shades and want to start practising new styles. This series will be a mix of themed makeup, practising techniques and just general playing around. I am hoping to do this for at least a year, so fingers crossed I manage to stick to it.

As I am totally rambling now, I suppose we should get onto the first look…

bh cosmetics zodiac love signs palette

I fell in love with the BH Cosmetics Zodiac palette as soon as I got it. The colours are all right up my street as you can see in the review I did for it here. I knew I wanted this to be the first palette I did a makeup look with for this series and here we are. I decided to make Capricorn the main focus shade for my eyes, as it is the star sign for January and I was trying to be all intelligent aha. Not one to keep things to one colour, I used the Scorpio shades too. I used the matte Scorpio shade as a base and then blended shimmery Scorpio into Capricorn along the eyelid.

I am really pleased with how this turned out. I very rarely use blue on my eyes, but I always seem to suit it more if I put it with another colour. I am getting serious The Little Mermaid vibes with this one. Ariel is my love, so at the back of my mind I was probably channelling her for this look.

I am so excited for this series and I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I am looking forward to creating it. ❤
