Five Little Christmas Things

Five Little Christmas Things

As you all know by now I LOVE CHRISTMAS. I agree totally with the song, as it really is the most wonderful time of the year. I have loved Christmas ever since I was a little girl. I have been so lucky as my parents always made Christmas magical for us, so I have the best memories growing up and even now I spend most of the Christmas period with my mum and dad. Christmas for me just consists of as much food as possible and as much trashy TV to go with it. I just love it. I haven’t done a Five Little Things post in a while, so thought it was only right to do a little Christmas version.

Here are my favourite things that happen throughout December.

1 – Smells – There is something about Christmassy scents. As soon as I smell cinnamon my mind goes all festive, I could smell it in the middle of summer and I instantly get taken to Christmas and I’m not even mad. My house has been full of Christmas candles since November and they will probably keep going until February. I’m not that bad, I do take the tree down, it is just the smells that I like to continue!

2 – Food – Of course food is one of my favourite things about Christmas. I have probably eaten 400 mince pies already this year and I really think I have an addiction. It probably doesn’t help the mince pie competition we had at work and the fact someone else seems to be bringing in an extra box daily. I just can’t stop eating them. If it isn’t mince pies, it is chocolate I am consuming from my treat table at home. I have decided to take December off from healthy eating and you can probably see why ha.

3 – Songs – I love a Christmas song and I don’t care what anyone says, nobody can top Wham!’s Last Christmas. That song is a tune and will forever be my number 1 choice. I could never take part in Whamageddon, as I probably listen to it 200 times in December alone myself and I would never want to deprive myself of it.

4 – Films – December is a time that needs to be full of Christmas films. I just adore them, the sweeter the story the better. Muppets Christmas Carol will forever be my favourite, but there are so many other good ones out there too. Miracle On 34th Street is just a classic too, I do love a Christmas film with a bit of magic.

5 – Making Memories – The one thing that Christmas is all about. Making memories with the ones you love. Friends, Family, anybody that you are close to. Sometimes it’s easy to get wrapped up in spending money at Christmas, but the best memories usually cost nothing. I try to take lots of photos at Christmas to look back on through the year when I need a bit of a boost, plus I am super forgetful so it’s always good to look back and jog my memory lol!

These are just a few reasons why I love Christmas and I hope you all do too. Christmas can be such a hard time of year, so I hope you all fill it with as much love as you can. ❤
