Skincare Secrets With Cosmetify *

cosmetify skincare secrets

Skincare is one of those things that I wasn’t really interested in when I was younger to be honest. I was more into the makeup side of things, I didn’t really understand the importance of actually looking after your skin too. Now that I am older and I suppose a bit wiser, I know that if you look after your skin, it will look after you later. When I was contacted by a company called Cosmetify to show you some of my skincare tips as part of their #SkincareSecrets campaign, I jumped at the chance. If you haven’t heard of Cosmetify yet, you really need to. They are effectively a search engine for anything Beauty related, you can search for a particular item and they will show you the cheapest price available online to buy. They have so many brands on there and there isn’t yet anything that I have wanted to buy that I haven’t found, they really are my go to for any Beauty and Skincare purchases now.

Next month I am going on holiday and to say I am excited is an understatement. When I am abroad, or in the unlikely event that it is super hot weather here, I like to tone back my makeup a little. As I tend to wear a full coverage foundation, it doesn’t sit very well in the heat and I end up with it sliding down my face…lush. I am quite lucky, as I tend to tan very easily, so by the second day of my holiday the foundation never matches me anyway. This is normally when I tone back the makeup and let the natural glow do the talking.

Clinique Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser

Having Rosacea means I struggle with constantly red skin on my face. It is something that I am really self conscious about and I know I shouldn’t be, but after a few too many comments from people a few years ago, I feel better when it is covered. I use a lot of green toned makeup in my daily routine as this helps balance the redness out. Having a green based cleanser, especially when I am not going full coverage works great too. For me, this only fades the redness slightly, but it does take out the really harsh red tones that I have going on. As a cleanser, it makes my skin feel wonderful and soft though which is something I have always struggled with. My mum always used to say I have skin like a rhino, so it’s nice to know there is something out there that will make it soft haha!

Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow Moisturiser

This product is perfect if you just want to add the subtlest bit of colour. I usually use this over a green toned primer, to hide the redness I mentioned before. It does take a bit of rubbing in, as it goes from white to a fake tan shade in one pat. Once it has been buffed in though, it tints the skin in the most glowing way. It is only subtle, but you know when people have that refreshed, healthy look to their face, this must be what they are using! I do have to keep hiding it from Lewis though, as he thinks it is going to make him more tanned than me this holiday, but I think not.

Barry M Peppermint Lip Scrub / Caudalie Lip Conditioner

My lips have always been something that I have tried to look after. I suffer from the driest lips, especially in Winter, so anything I can do to make them feel nice and my lipstick stay on for a long time is great for me. I first started using lip scrubs years ago, when my friend worked in Lush and introduced me to them. I have sworn by them ever since and just love how tasty they are too. This Barry M offering is very similar to Mint Julips and works in the same way. Once I have scrubbed my lips, I pop a balm on top. This lip conditioner from Caudalie has a nice and sharp refreshing orange scent to it and makes my lips feel so moisturised too.

I have definitely learnt how important Skincare is over the years and will try to keep looking after my skin as best as I can. I can’t wait to take these on holiday with me and help my skin be its best glowy self! ❤

I really want to try the Healthy Glow. I hate wearing foundation for work but feel like my skin needs something to help me look more awake! So tempted to treat myself…
