Givenchy L’Interdit Perfume

Givenchy L'Interdit Perfume

Every time my mum and dad go away on holiday, I feel the need to treat myself to a new perfume. I mean, it would be rude for them to travel and leave duty free empty handed wouldn’t it! I just like to help the cause. Sometimes, I go for an old favourite, sometimes I like to pick something new. This time around I went for something new and picked Givenchy L’Interdit.

Givenchy is a perfume brand that I just love. Very Irrésistible is one of my all time favourite smells ever and I would literally bathe in the stuff if I could. The scent reminds me of growing up and it was one of the first perfumes that I just completely fell in love with. As I am such a Givenchy fan, I thought I would pop to Boots and have a little smell to see what I should get. I smelt a sample of L’Interdit and fell in love straightaway.

Givenchy L'Interdit Perfume review

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this scent. L’Interdit is very different from the other Givenchy smells I have had. It is definitely a lot heavier, but thats partly the reason I chose this one, I am a bit of a strong perfume fan. The bottle is pretty basic looking for Givenchy, as I usually like their prettier designs but as this is paying homage to the original L’Interdit I like that they have kept it simple.

L’Interdit means ‘forbidden’ in French and I think that is a perfect name for this deep and moody fragrance. Apparently the original L’Interdit was made for Audrey Hepburn, who forbid Givenchy from mass producing the scent. The formula has been changed a few times since, but if it is good enough for Audrey, it is good enough for me! It has a very strong floral vibe to it, you can really smell the Jasmine and Patchouli at first and after a moment the deeper florals start seeping through. It is one of the only perfumes I have that doesn’t really fade after it has been worn a few hours either. The smell stays just as strong which is so nice to have, as nobody likes a quick fading perfume.

If you are out and about and like a rich flowery perfume, this is definitely worth a little smell.

Available from Boots and Debenhams.
