NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream • Montreal

I feel like I have dropped the ball a little beauty-wise lately. I used to always be so up to date with the new collections being released, but now i’m really not. This doesn’t mean my love of makeup has disappeared, I just have to be good and pay for bills and bits first. Adulting sucks right. Anyway, I DID manage to treat myself to the cutest little NYX Soft Matte lip cream in the shade Montreal.

I absolutely love the NYX Lip Creams, I seem to be building up a good little collection now. The fact that I have an NYX counter in my local Boots is lethal though, as I just can’t seem to walk past it without turning my hand into a lipstick rainbow. I got Montreal just before Christmas, as I fancied a nude shade to break up all the reds that I always seem to wear during the festive season.

Montreal is a lovely dusky pink shade, a definite ‘lips but better’ kinda colour. The packaging is the same as the other NYX lip creams, which I am growing to like more with each purchase, as it becomes so easy to pick a shade quickly helping my morning routine rush very nicely.

I really like this shade on the lips, the soft pink colour is perfect for Spring and so easy to wear. Montreal is a slightly warm pink and just looks super cute. I love the way it compliments my hair for ultimate pastel realness. I will say that the colour applies a lot lighter than it looks in the tube, not that I mind as the colour is lovely.

Like the other lip creams I have tried, this glides on beautifully and the colour is spot on straightaway. This definitely lasted a lot longer on me than the shade Prague that I tried before. This one stayed put for about 4 hours before it started to fade, but even when it did, it faded out to a really lovely muted shade. As usual, I applied this with the applicator wand and then touched up the edges with a lip brush.

This definitely won’t be the last NYX lip cream I buy, I am super impressed with them. I know that Montreal will be my go to Spring shade, that’s if I haven’t used it all up by then! ❤
