It’s Christmas Eveeeeeeee! The best day of the year by far. I actually prefer this day to the big day itself, as it reminds me of all the cute little things that I did with my mum when I was little. I still do a lot of them with her now tbh and I think this is why I still really enjoy it. Think making mince pies, watching Christmas films and just being merry. This is exactly what you will find us doing today.
Before the festivities begin though, I thought today was the best time to show you the lipstick I have loved to death over the last few festive weeks. It is the perfect deep red shade for this time of year. I am so in love with it.
Madrid is in the standard NYX lip packaging that they use, which is pretty basic but does the job nicely. I quite like the fact that you can see the shade at a quick glance rather than having to read through the names. The last NYX lipstick that I tried was Prague and I absolutely loved it. That wasn’t a metallic shade, but it was also a matte formula, so I had high hopes for this one too.
Madrid is a deep metallic berry shade, which as I mentioned before is perfect for this time of year. I can’t get over how metallic it looks when it is dry, it just looks like liquid metal and I can’t stop looking at it the whole time it is on! I haven’t stopped wearing it since I bought it. In fact I wore it to my Christmas Party and only had to touch it up once, which is good going considering the amount I was drinking!
Like the other NYX lippies I have tried, this is pretty much opaque in 1 coat and the staying power is absolutely spot on. Application is really easy using the wand, the lipstick dries a few seconds later which gives enough time to sort out any smudges whilst it is still wet. I find that it is easier to use the wand for the main parts of the lip, but then use a brush to create shape. Once dry, you can barely feel it on the lips and it doesn’t start to wear for a good few hours either. Even when it wears, it only starts on the inside of the lips too.
I will definitely be wearing this over the next few days, that’s providing I actually have any left. I hope you all have a magical time over the next few days. Wishing you all the merriest Christmas! ❤
This is such a pretty shade! I’ve been so into metallic shades lately!
Ooo what a gorgeous shade! It suits you so much! 😀
