I really can’t remember the last time I bought a nail polish. In all honesty, since I have moved out most treats have pretty much gone out of the window. Who knew bills were so expensive eh?! Not in a woe is me kind of way of course, I love living with Lewis but the lack of spare money has hit our lifestyle hard! Maybe I need to get some sort of makeup fund going!
Anyway, I wanted to show you a nail polish that my mum treated me to for my birthday. So technically I still haven’t bought a nail polish in ages, as this was a treat, but hey! She chose me the lovely shade ‘Play Date’ from Essie. I think she was trying to match my hair, but now I have changed it yet again, whoops! I don’t actually own too many Essie polishes, but the ones I do have, have always served me well.
Play Date is a nice and creamy lavender shade, which is slightly darker than a pastel but not too rich. Once applied it has a lovely glossy shine to it. Even though it has a glossy finish, I must admit it does apply a little streaky at first, so 3 coats are definitely needed. I only used 2 in the above photo and you can see it is a little patchy. This is easily solved with the third coat though and soon evens up.
I absolutely love this shade, it is perfect for these sunny days that we have been having lately! ♥
Available from Boots and Superdrug.
Ooh, that’s a gorgeous shade of purple! It’s a shame it needs 3 costs though. It’s a fab colour for summer x

I love that color, I’m biased though because it’s my favorite color. I love the length of those nails, do you paint them then apply them yourself?
Essie polishes are some of my favorite formula and brushes! I haven’t painted my nails in awhile even though I keep planning to. This shade is really pretty and perfect for Spring!
