Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Powder – Luminous

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Powder - Luminous

It feels like forever since I have written a beauty post. Well, my schedule seems to have gone well out of the window with any post lately, but beauty seems to have taken a backseat more than anything else. I am really wanting to change that though and I am hoping it will be easier now we have decorated, the rooms are a lot lighter and the new wall colours make perfect backgrounds for photos.

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Powder - Luminous review

As the sun has made a more than welcome appearance, I thought I would show you the Urban Decay ‘Naked Illuminated’ powder that I picked up in the Christmas sales. When the sun comes out, something happens to me and I like to make my face as sparkly as I possibly can, so this was a perfect purchase.

The Naked Illuminated powder comes in a cute little box. The first layer flips up to reveal a compact mirror with the powder and the second layer holds a brush. I thought the box was quite bulky to start with, but after dropping it at least 5 times, this is probably a good thing as I know the powder is nice and protected inside when it comes to my clumsy hands.

As you can see the product is made up of really tiny glitter pieces, which catch the light at all different angles, perfect for my magpie ways! I chose the shade Luminous, which was the lightest of the bunch but I think there are 4 shades altogether.

This powder creates the cutest shimmery glow, I dusted it along my cheekbones and the tip of my nose with the brush provided, for a subtle but sparkly effect. It does apply very finely, but it is so easy to layer up until you get the amount of sparkle that you are looking for. The shade Luminous is very pretty, almost like a very pale champagne with lighter sparkles throughout. I think it would make a perfect highlight shade on the eyes too, so I will be trying this next.

I really like this powder and can see it being used an awful lot over the next few months. Let’s just hope the sun stays out, so it can be shown in all of it’s glittery goodness!

Available from Debenhams and Urban Decay.

Looks like such a nice subtle highlight, but the packaging is to die for!
