10 Things I have learnt from moving out

Would you believe that me and Lewis have now been in our own home for 5 months. It is crazy to think how quickly things can happen, this time last year I would never have thought that we would have been in this position, let alone with our own little fur baby too. This year seems like the year that things are finally getting into place and boy have we waited a long time to get here.

As we both lived with our parents before moving in together, we have learnt a hell of a lot about each other and how not to get on each others nerves, so I thought I would run down my top 10 findings since moving out..

1 – Houses are EXPENSIVE. There is literally a bill for everything. Bills for bills, insurance for bills – like honestly, why so many bills?! I knew it was going to be expensive, but some bills are just pointless.

2 – You can never decide whose turn it is to cook. Luckily me and Lewis have very similar food tastes, but we can never decide what to have for dinner. By the time we decide, normally hours have passed and then the decision comes as to who is going to actually cook it – normally Lewis.

3 – Chores are boring. I didn’t just discover this from moving out, I used to hate them when I was younger and they haven’t got anymore interesting now I am an adult. Lewis has a habit of doing tit for tat too, so just when I think I have got away with it he comes along and tells me it is my turn aha. Which leads on to my next one..

4 – Why does washing take forever?! Maybe its my own fault as I leave it to all be done on a Saturday, but it just seems to go on and on and on. Especially in summer, I am sure that there is no quick way of hanging washing out either.

5 – I now have a candle and reed diffuser obsession. Nobody said that I would suddenly become obsessed with reed diffusers and candles. I have so many Christmas smelling candles too that I need to start using. Maybe I could start using them this weekend, it’s never too early in my eyes.

6 – Household sales are the best. I never knew that I would become so excited when things like washing powder and fabric conditioner are in the sale. Move over beauty sales, I get more excited for kitchen products now. Joke – I still love me a makeup sale obvs.

7 – Irritation happens a lot easier. Being with someone all time can be irritating. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that we always get to spend time together now, but time on our own is also very much needed.

8 – We must share the TV. Now me and Lew have a very different taste in TV programmes. Some programmes we both like but others we can’t stand, so now we have to share like the adults we are. That is when he isn’t hogging the TV with his playstation of course.

9 – My mum was right. I feel like I have turned into my mum since leaving home. Everything that she used to moan about when we were little, I now do too. Mess really annoys me and its not until I think how messy I was at home, that I must have driven my parents up the wall.

10 – Time runs away with you. I seem to have lost track of time. I’m sure when I lived at home I had endless amounts of free time, nowadays – nothing. I just can’t seem to find 5 minutes these days once all of the house jobs are done. I think I definitely need to start organising my evenings better.

Obviously it isn’t all bad, I know how lucky we are to be able to live together and I am absolutely loving it. We have little Meowth and our cute little home and I wouldnt have it any other way. ♥

HA YES! I love this post so much as I can relate to all of these things. 😛

The thing I noticed is when I lived at home I couldn’t wait to go out and so stuff, now I just love being at home to chill out. xD

Oh jeez, when I move out I feel like I’m going to learn all of this as well (not excited about how much I’m going to have to start cleaning…) and I’m not excited about those bills either! :/
