If you follow my Instagram, you may have noticed that I had a little hair change over the weekend. If you don’t, I will let you in on a little secret, I have gone PINK! I am so pleased, as I have wanted pink hair for absolutely ages. I have been working myself up to it, as I needed to find a way of getting the blue out without killing off my hair completely. That’s the only thing with blue hair, the dye sticks to my hair really well, which is good when I wanted to be blue but not so good once I wanted rid.
I decided that the best way for me to get a pale enough base, was to fade as much of the blue out as I could out whilst washing with colour fading shampoo and then popping a hair Stripper on. This method worked really well for me previously, so was hoping it would be just as good again. Obviously, I am not a hairdresser, so if you are going to use a stripper or anything on your hair be careful and do all of the patch tests etc. 🙂
I was so surprised at how well it worked again, I was left with the lightest bluey blonde shade, which was a perfect base. I then popped L’Oreal Colorista in ‘Pink’ over the top to get the cutest pink shade. I did have to do this twice as it was a bit patchy after the first attempt, but after it had been on for 15 minutes the second time, it was perfect.
I am so in love with this colour. It has taken me a little while to get used to it, but not in a bad way, just because it looks so different. I kinda love it a lot though. I have never been anything remotely pink before and this has been a welcome change.
I am hoping this lasts more than the 2-3 washes that is states on the box. Colorista have always been pretty good in my opinion though, so I have high hopes that even if it does fade it will be to a light candy floss pink.
What do you think? Have you tried these dyes? ♥
