L’Oreal Matte Lip Paint – Nude-ist

L'Oreal Matte Lip Paint - Nude-ist

I am at that awkward lip stage at the moment, my head is saying Summer but my heart is leaning slightly towards Autumn. I am a total Summer person though and I really don’t want to give up on Sunny days completely just yet. The constant rain really isn’t helping my situation though, so I have bitten the bullet and decided to go for a slightly more Autumnal lip in the form of L’Oreal Nude-ist. That is until the sun comes back and the pastels come back on the scene again.

I have seen L’Oreal Lip Paints out and about for a little while and they have always intrigued me a little. The packaging makes me think of little paint tubes, which I gather is where the name comes from aha. I have been steering towards lip paints and liquid lipsticks quite a lot lately and I don’t think this is going o change anytime soon.

As with a lot of liquid lipsticks, the applicator wand is in the lid. Normally I struggle a little with doe foot wands, but this one is quite useful. I can never usually get the lipstick as accurate as I would like without a brush, but this one seems to work fine. I find that Nude-ist applies like a cream and very evenly, it doesn’t take much touching up at all to get it looking nice and smooth. I must say, it has a really nice sweet smell too, which is actually quite pleasant.

Nude-ist is a really nice purple toned nude, with a slight rose tone to it. The colour does apply a lot lighter and more purple than the shade on the packaging. That is the only thing with coloured packaging, I find that it doesn’t always tend to be too accurate as you can’t see the product inside. But then clear, squeezy packaging makes me think of magazine lipgloss freebies I used to love when I was younger and that’s not always a good thing.

I wouldn’t say that this dries to a matte finish at all. It keeps the same creamy texture that it applies with, but it just feels ever so slightly drier. Definitely not a matte feeling though, although it lasts just like a matte finish. It lasted for hours on me, before it started to fade ever so slightly and need touching up in the corners.

This is my perfect shade at the minute and I am a big fan, I don’t think that this is going to be the last Lip Paint that I will be seeing before the end of the year either. If Nude-ist is anything to go by, I have high hopes for the bright and bold shades.

Available from Boots and Superdrug.

Aww I love that you’ve reviewed this! I’ve been eyeing it up for ages as on the advertisement for it it looks purple to me, not brown! xD

I like the sound of the formula even though it’s not matte. I may have to pick this up to wear over the autumn and winter months! 😀

Also, it looks gorgeous on you. <3
