I can never decide how I feel about matte textures. I go through fazes where I love everything matte and then other times my inner magpie comes out and I want things super shiny. At the minute matte is totally my thing, so thought I would try out the Barry M ‘Matte’ nail paint.
I wasn’t too sure what to expect with this top coat, I really wanted it to work but wasn’t sure how it would take if the shade was really glossy. I decided to test it over Pomegranate from Barry M’s Gelly range – one of the glossiest shades I own!
I am so glad that it worked, they look like completely different nail polishes! I think I am a little in love with the effect that this creates, Pomegranate looks so much better in matte. I loved watching this start to work, once applied this looks like a regular top coat but as it starts to dry, you see it becoming more and more matte. So clever!
I definitely want to mattify every polish I own now…well until I prefer shiny things again!
I love the effect that this has on the Pomegranate! I use this with the matte colours that they do but it always chips, though that's probably because I'm ungracefully heavy handed! xx

I was a little dubious about mattes too but I got mine done a brown shade and loved them! Really love this shade in matte though, looks completely different xx

Wow this colour looks amazing and I bet it is so much fun to watch it dry completely and become matte! These dark colours are my favorite for this season! x
