Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

I mentioned before in my Urban Decay Makeover post, that I treated myself to an Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I used to use these all of the time when I first got into Urban Decay, but found myself forgetting to replace them until eventually I didn’t really use them anymore. I always find that it’s not until you start using something again, that you realise how good it was and how much you could kick yourself for not replacing it.

I use eyeshadow pretty much everyday. Whether its a nude, bold or glitter it is something that always tends to be part of my daily ritual. Eyeshadows tend to stay in place pretty well on me, but there are a certain few shades that I end up being disappointed with when I compare the colour in the pan to how it looks on skin. This is where I find the Primer Potion comes in perfectly.

The primer itself comes in a squeezey tube with a wand, which I much prefer to the older bottle packaging as you can squeeze this to get any last product out when it is running low. As this is the Original formula, it dries pretty clear on my skin but I know there are a few other finishes that you can buy also, with a slight shimmer or colour. I find that you only need the smallest amount of product to cover the whole lid, the wand seems to pick up enough primer to cover both lids without going back to get more.

I thought I would show you the test that I did on a really tricky Green Glitter eyeshadow, so you can see how well it works.

As you can see the difference when using this is amazing. I find that a lot of the glitter normally just falls out when applying this shadow, but the primer acts as a kind of glue making sure the glitter sticks to it and stays in place. This works miracles for creasing too, after a whole day of wearing makeup, my eyeshadow does not budge one bit.

The primer manages to recapture the ‘oomph’ of every shadow and gives them a little life, so they end up looking the same shade as the pan. I have rediscovered my love for this and definitely won’t be lazy and forgetting to repurchase this when it runs out anytime soon!
