Every now and then I go through a stage where I want to dye my hair some random colour, but then I remember how dark my natural hair is and how scared of bleach I am that I give up. I saw an advert on the tellybox featuring l’oreal’s new ombré collection and was immediately drawn to the shade wild red. I used the wild ombré dye before when I ombréd my hair originally and was so impressed that I thought I would give the red a go.

The actual set was really easy to use, I would advise someone helping you though as the back can be quite tricky to do, especially if you are after a straight dip. I got my mum to do this for me, luckily I leave my hair curly normally, so if it isn’t perfectly straight you don’t notice so much! The mixture is applied straight on to dry hair and left for 35 mins..easy peasy!

I must say I am so impressed with this! I applied it on top of my existing ombré which is why I think it went so vibrant. I decided to go slightly higher than my existing ombré to make sure it was fully covered and even the dark hair went quite red so I think this would even work without bleached hair first. The way that it catches the light looks amazing too and makes a nice change from the usual brown to blonde ombré.

I will say that because it is red, the dye does go everywhere but this could just be down to my clumsy ways. I didn’t even do any of the dying process but ended up with red all over my hands and even my head, see what I mean about clumsy! Where I had my hair down after I had dyed it, a lot of the dye had transferred onto my neck overnight so I woke up the next day with a bright orange tint around my neck where my hair had fallen. This was a bit rubbish, but it came off really easily so just be careful!

If you are looking for a really easy way to ombré your hair, i really couldn’t recommend this enough! I cannot find this online anywhere, but I managed to pick mine up from Boots!
