I have wanted to try nails inc. kensington caviar gel effect plumping top coat for ages and running out of my trusty Barry M top coat this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try something new. I have never actually tried gel nails myself, but I do like the glossy look of them. Nails inc. claim that this will ‘create the look of gel nails without the UV lamp‘ and let you achieve ‘smooth, plumped nails‘ so I thought I would try out this top coat to see if it lives up to this.
I started by painting 2 coats of nails inc. ‘westminster’ onto my nails and left this to dry. This is one of my favourite purples ever!
The pictures above show no topcoat and how the nail varnish looks on its own. I then added a coat of the gel effect top coat.

As you can see my nails are a lot glossier, even more so than with a normal top coat and they do look a lot plumper. Once applied it dries quickly, although I tend to leave it for an extra 5 minutes just incase, as I always smudge my manicure and end up learning the hard way every time ha! I am really impressed with this top coat, my nails have a constant glossy/wet look to them and I can’t wait to show this top coat off in the summer with glossy corals and pinks. ♥
